Dear Friends and Neighbors,
Action Alert!
The Parents Bill of Rights legislation is being debated tonight!
In the dead of night, when they think no one is watching, the ruling party in Olympia is going to try to pass legislation (House Bill 1296) undoing the voter-approved Initiative 2081, known as the Parents Bill of Rights. The bill has a very benign, innocent title: “Promoting a safe and supportive public education system.” But here’s what it actually does:

Here’s what we think:
- The state does NOT own your kids. Parents are the primary stakeholders in their child’s upbringing and the FIRST and MOST IMPORTANT teachers they will ever have!
- Decreased transparency and parental involvement will lead to more failure in Washington’s public schools. This is one of the reasons so many parents are taking their children out of our public school system and opting for homeschooling and online options.
- This bill further inflames and divides our communities. The voters expressed their will and now the ruling party is trying to GO AGAINST THE WILL OF THE PEOPLE. The have forgotten what “We the People…” means!
- The bill has an emergency clause on it (What emergency?) which prevents it from going through the referendum process. In other words, they are saying, “We hear you, we disagree with you, we’re going to enact our will not yours, and there’s not a damn thing you can do about it!”
- The more we learn, the more Americans are becoming critical of policies that focus on gender identity, especially when it comes to kids and the way some “teachers” go about indoctrinating them.

This debate we are about to start tonight is expected go late into the night and even into the morning. We will fight this thing, tooth and nail! But, in the end, we may not have the votes. We have amendments; we have sound arguments; we have facts; and, we know we have the People on our side!
We hope you can watch the debate on TVW or our livestream on Face Book, X (Twitter) or YouTube once it starts.
Sincerely,

Hunter Abell
